SHINE is a new start enterprise formed by the collective
action of skilled and accredited counsellors and trainers. The company was
incorporated in August 2008 as SHINE (NE), a Community Interest Company. SHINE
is an abbreviation of Saltburn Holistic Interventions in the North East.
SHINE was formed out of a recognized need to provide a service that is client-led
and flexible.
SHINE is committed to enhancing the psychological wellbeing of people in the
community by providing an integrative, holistic therapeutic service to meet
individual needs.
SHINE offers four key services:

MISSION
SHINE is committed to enhancing the psychological well-being of people in the
community. SHINE provides an integrative, holistic therapeutic service to meet
individual needs.
OUR AIMS:
- To
provide a rapid and alternative access to treatment services for people
experiencing physical and mental distress.
- To
offer education, training and preventative sessions that help to address
some of the key focus areas outlined in the Department of Health's Better
Health Guide.
- To
encourage people to return to employment and community participation by
providing therapeutic services that will improve and maintain health and
wellbeing.
- To
help reduce inequalities in health care across the region and within
minority communities by providing a flexible and accessible service.
- To
give people greater choice and flexibility about the types of
psychological services that they can access.
OUR SHORT-TERM OBJECTIVES are to provide:
- Care
Co-ordination & Assessment for self-referrals or clients referred from
other services or organizations.
- A
range of Psychological Services on a 1:1 basis (see the Psychological
